At approximately 6:15 AM, Chilton County 911 received a call regarding an 80-year-old male who was enroute to St. Vincent's Chilton with a gunshot wound to the arm. The man stated that he was struggling with his daughter over a gun and that she suffers from mental health issues. During the altercation, he was shot in the arm.

Deputies immediately proceeded to the location where the incident took place. Upon arrival, they found a female lying deceased on the floor.

Investigators are currently on the scene processing evidence. 

"This is an active investigation, and we will provide updates as more information becomes available," stated Sheriff John Shearon
