The Chilton County Emergency 9-1-1 system was founded on January 26, 1991. What began as a few operators dispatching calls using older radio systems has grown to 12 full-time and 7 part-time employees dispatching calls for 4 municipalities, the Sheriff's Department, and 15 volunteer fire and rescue departments.
